Pair of Art Nouveau American Silver Overlay over Green Glass Vases – Alvin 999/1000 circa 1900

A very nice quality pair of sterling silver overlay vases on green glass by Alvin Silver Co., New Jersey circa 1900.  Thick silver overlay in an Art Nouveau design of the period – over a deep green thick glass body.

Alvin was well known for this type of silver overlay the company started in 1886 and added silver overlay to many other glassmaker’s pieces including Loetz and Tiffany.  Eventually purchased by Gorham in 1928.

Marked on bottom of each with the Alvin “A” mark & ‘Fine’ 999/1000 plus a stock number.
