Pair of French Sevrés Covered Vases with Bronze Mounts – Signed “C. Velly” – dated 1841

A beautiful pair of French Sevres porcelain hand painted vases with removable lids with acorn finials and bronze ormolu mounts, handles and footed bases, dated 1841. The vase bodies have a white background, painted on one side with figures of women and putti, while the other side shows scenes of trees and landscapes. They are each signed “C. Velly”. The bottom and top sections of the vases as well as the lids are painted cobalt blue and  wonderfully decorated with gilt swirls and designs.

Each vase (with lid) is 16 inches tall from the base to the finial and is 8 1/2 inches wide from handle to handle.

Both vases are in excellent condition.
