It features a delightful animated folklore scene of three finely dressed Japanese figures in the mountains, it is decorated with embellishments of line, floral, swirls and geometric shapes. This 19th century Chinese hinged box features a hand-carved design of dragons and birds from Chinese folk tales upon the exterior of the box amidst swirls of clouds. Stained a deep red colour under a high gloss finish accented with a red velvet interior. The box is quite large with curved hinges, it is a perfect size for storing, or organizing fine objects.
