Pair of Large Royal Vienna Style Chargers with Classical Roman Scenes – 15 inch diameter.
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA beautiful pair of large chargers with combination transfer and hand-painted scenes surrounded by cobalt blue borders and hand gilding. Each scene is a classical style with figures in Roman dress and Roman warriors – with cherubs playing amongst their feet. The borders are a deep blue with hand gilding decoration. The reverse shows a underglaze Vienna beehive mark and numbers in red.
There are holes on the back rim – drilled in the making of them – for attaching a wire to hang on the wall.
Measures: 15 inches diameter by approx 2 inches high.
