Pair of Linocut Prints “Downs and Trees” by English Printmaker Robert Travener

Robert Travener (1920-2004) , English illustrator and head of Printmaking at Eastborne College of Art and Design in Sussex, then Principal until 1980. Senior fellow of the Royal Society of Painter/Printmakers and had many commissions from major organizations like Shell, the BBC, and London Transport to name a few. His work is held in many public collections including V&A and the British Government Collection. He worked daily for over 50 years in a wide range of printmaking techniques including linocut, woodcut and lithography where he “pulled” each print in the process himself : each “artist proof” print is unique.

The “Downs and Trees” pair #1 and #2 are both artist proofs, a truly unique set of prints by a celebrated British artist.
