Pair of Silver-Plated and Mother of Pearl Knife Rests, circa 1900

A pair of knife rests with silver plated ends and mother of pearl shafts, circa 1900.

The rests have silverplate on each end and are holding the centre section of mother of pearl on each rest.

Knife rests were a common item on the dinner table that would allow you to rest your carving or cutting knives so they would not touch the table or get the table cloth dirty.

Each piece is 4 inches long.
