Rare Large Pair of Meissen Empire-Style Porcelain Snake Handle Vases 19th Century
PorcelainsLuxurious and rare, this large pair of Meissen empire-style porcelain vases was designed by E.A. Leuteritz in the mid 19th century circa 1880-1900. Each baluster-form vase with double snake handles over a deep cobalt blue body adorned with gilt and white porcelain braided and gadrooned designs. The contrasting curvilinear sculptured white and gold snakes give the functionality of handles.
Hallmarked and in superb condition considering their age.
