Ridgways England Pottery Jug, c. 1900 – “The George & Vulture at Tollenham” and “Walking Up the Hill”

A lovely Ridgways England pottery jug, c. 1900, with transfer ware scenes on each side. One side is titled “The George & Vulture at Tollenham” and the other side shows ” Walking Up the Hill”.

On the underside, it is marked “Published by Ridgways 1814” with the Ridgways maker’s mark. Below that is the word “Renaissance” in a banner and under that, the word “England”.

The jug is 5 1/2 inches high x 5 3/4 inches wide from the spout to the handle.

There is a small flake under the glaze on the inside rim of the jug. Otherwise, the piece is in very good condition.
