Rococo Revival Gilt Bronze Electrified Candelabra with Putti Figure & Porcelain Plaques
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vThis is a late 19th century Rococo Revival candelabra, electrified mid-20th century and in perfect working order. The candelabra consists of centre figural column of a seated putti on a textured hexagonal plinth, upholding a branch surmounted by a five armed-candelabra, ornately decorated with floral and foliate ornament.
The central figure is mounted to a geometric, columnar base with inset Sevres-blue rimmed, gilt-banded porcelain plaques. The central plaque features a putti playing a coronet and the others, banding the base along the front, have multicolored floral swags against a white background.
The gilt bronze base is further decorated with overlaid, gilt bronze floral swags, with raised and chased foliate ornament beneath. The base stands on four, inset, thread-mounted, rondelle feet and a pair of curlicue foliate legs, one on either side, extending down and below the geometric columnar base.
