Large Sterling Silver Hammered Water/Beer Jug – circa 1920-1940

This sterling water/beer jug has a very sleek look featuring a hammered design which creates a unique texture. Other than the hammered texture, this jug offers a nice modern handle with a leaf design on the thumb rest. Not much is known about the maker other than they were situated in Ontario during the early to mid 20th century. The family this piece was acquired from originally purchased it in 1940, and the piece itself shows influences from the art deco period. C. 1920-1940

The piece is marked with the “Canadian Silver Company” sphinx mark.

Measures 7 1/2 in wide 9 1/4 in tall, and weighs 946 grams.
