Authentic Tiffany silver hollow ware is generally marked Tiffany & Co and includes date letters indicating the period it was made. The first date letter M used by Tiffanys represented Edward C. Moore, who was the head of Tiffany’s silver operations until 1891. After his death, the date letters were based on the initial of the various directorships of Tiffany presidents which includes the “M” for “John C. Moore II” (1907-1947) in this piece.
