FurnitureMid 20th century gorgeous pair of English Regency “style” walnut chests with elaborate combinations of gilded (gold) wood carvings. Lovely veneered fronts, each having a beautifully carved and trimmed center medallion of satinwood inlay depicting an amphora shaped vase of flowering stems. Each chest has a generous top surface area with carved braided trim and a top drawer. The fronts open to a large interior storage, all supported by dramatic sabre legs. The doors open opposite sides of each other.
Truely a wonderfully intriguing combination of design elements, a rare find!
