18th Century Inlaid Mahogany Knife / Cutlery Box with Satinwood Inlay.

A handsome 18th century mahogany knife box with a slant front hinged lid with shell inlay and serpentine front.  The interior reveals spaces for several knives of varying sizes. There is a lock on the front of the box but no key.

On the top of the box is an inlaid shell decoration in satinwood and inlay on the perimeters of the corners and lid.

The box measures 15 inches tall x 8 1/2 inches wide and is in good condition for it’s age.
