Early Birks circa 1879-1897 – Set of 8 Sterling Silver Engraved Soup / Dessert Spoons in an “Old English – Engraved” Pattern
Silver HollowareA wonderful set of 8 sterling silver soup / dessert spoons in an “Old English – Engraved” type pattern, made by Henry Birks & Co., circa 1879-1897. The spoons are also monogrammed “HJP”
The pattern is very early and I don’t think in production anymore. Not sure the pattern name – but they are an Old English shape and they are engraved.
On the underside of each spoon is stamped “H.B. & Co.” (Henry Birks & Co.) along with the lion passant and a woman’s head.
Each spoon measures 7 inches long.
Weight 327 grams total.
Note: there is some usage / age wear especially on the spoon bowls but, overall, the set is in very good condition for its age.
