Gorham Sterling – “Raphael” pattern – Luncheon Knives (sterling handles & blades) – circa 1875.
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA set of 6 Sterling handle and blade – set of Luncheon knives by Gorham in the Raphael pattern – introduced in 1875.
The handles are solid (not filled with pitch) and the blade being one continuous piece with the handle. The design is an intricate, classical scroll with a single bird below a heart shaped cartouche. Each is monogrammed with an “H”.
Each marked: Sterling, Pat. 74 – with Gorham’s mark (lion, anchor and ‘G’)
Knives measures: just over 8.25 inches long.
Total weight: 366 grams total.
Knives are in good condition – a buffing would bring them to looking brand new. Normal scratching and wear consummate with age.
