v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA Belgian oil on wood panel of an interior scene showing figures, wine barrels, lanterns, hanging poultry, etc. The painting has a gilded wooden frame but is not visibly signed. Painted on a wooden panel – the back of the panel shows another piece of carved wood attached – called a ‘cradle’. This prevents the panel from warping.
The painting dates mid 19th Century.
The painting with frame measures 18 inches wide x 21 1/2 inches tall.
the painting by itself is 13 1/4 inches wide x 16 3/4 inches tall.
There is some wear on the gilding but, overall, the painting and frame are in very good condition.
