The subject of the painting is a simple, yet lovely natural landscape scene, or “Sansui”.
The painting is signed by the artist on the front in Red and Black. A label on the reverse reads “A Bunjin – style Sansui painting in ink and wash on silk, circa 1820”. It is framed and matted in a more recent gilt wood bamboo shaped frame.
Silk Measures 7 1/4 inches high x 6 1/2 inches wide.
