Large Marble Bust of a Child.

Large Marble Bust of a Child.

    Marble Bust of Child

A large marble bust depicting a classical portrait of a child. The bust of child is quite smooth and fine, as it rests upon a round-shaped pedestal for support and placement. The child appears to be in deep state of contemplation, with lowered eyebrows, a pouty mouth and a alarming stare of emotion.  The child is quite animated as it evokes an empathic response to the viewer with human likeness.

A beautiful art object sculpted in marble, it would make a unique piece for those who adore sculpture of classical figures.

    Measures: 20 inches in height.

Excellent Condition: No chips or repairs. (minimal surface scratches, and small scuffed marks on the shoulder- see images for reference.)

MEISSEN Porcelain Figure of Girl with Picked Flowers and Lace Clothing circa 1910

MEISSEN Porcelain Figure of Girl with Picked Flowers and Lace Clothing circa 1910

Porcelain Meissen Figure – Girl with Picked Flowers – Hand Painted Dress and ‘Lace’ decoration.

    circa 1910.

An enchanting Meissen figure of a girl with a serene face, hair pulled back in a bun and tied with a pink ribbon.   Her painted skirt has pink stripes and tiny flowers, a mint green apron tucks into her waistband, her light blue bodice is accented with applied porcelain lace. The girl holds her mauve hat in which contains a mix of applied flowers. The girl is in bare feet and stands upon a green base decorated with white and gols scrolls. The lace is most exquisite on the front bodice of her dress but also accents the hem of her skirt.

I have seen this figure without the Lace decoration on her dress.  The lace makes this so much more refined and valuble.

Marked:  Crossed swords mark for Meissen.  Decorator’s mark ’54’ & impressed mark #6 & L.N.

    Measures: 5 1/2 inches high
