11 Karat Gold “Pomander” Filigree Hinged Box

11 karat gold “Pomander” box circa late 19th -early 20th century was historically used to carry “herbalist fragrant mixtures”. Hand crafted and assembled in the “flower and leaf” fashion, with layered filigree wound and fused in an intricate pattern. The box is set with eleven natural pearls and complete with “hinge” assembly, “snap clip” closure.   The lid is in a “Bezel” fashion setting with 5 oval purple and 4 smaller green coloured glass stones . The hand finishing is perfect and adds to the luxury of this remarkable piece of filigree craftsmanship history.  Appraisal is available.
