18ct Gold English / Irish Pocket Watch – R. Neill & Sons, Belfast – dated 1839

A very nice English 18 carat gold open face pocket watch by Irish clock maker R. Neill & Sons, Belfast.  The two tone gold face hand is chased with yellow gold Roman numerals.  The gold back cover opens to reveal a secondary gold cover with key wind hole and hole for time adjustment.  Opening the front crystal allows access to the works behind the face covering.  Marked on the works “R. Neill & Sons, Belfast  3332”.

Black steel hands and seconds hand.

English hallmarks for 18ct Gold – dating it for London, 1839.
