The glass exhibits strong internal movement and colour typical of turn-of-the-century Bohemian production, closely comparable to examples produced by Wilhelm Kralik.
The inkwell is fitted with a gilt-metal collar and hinged lid, and the underside bears the impressed mark “GESCHÜTZT”, indicating registered design protection. Desk objects of this quality were produced in limited numbers and reflect the high standard of craftsmanship associated with Bohemian Art Nouveau glass and metalwork at the period.
