A lovely oil painting on canvas in the “Barbizon School” style of a landscape with sheep, a dog and a shepherd by the French artist, Maurice Jacques (active late 19th into 20th century). The painting is housed in a carved wooden frame. There is a hand written inscription on the back stretcher along with at date of July, 1948.

The painting with frame measures 25 1/8 inches in width and is 18 1/2 inches tall.
