An absolute beautiful quality biscuit box in an usual shape. The box is triangular shaped with rounded corners and conceived sides. It sits on 3 paw & wings footed stand and the stand is decorated with Shells & flowers with a gadroon edge. The sides and top are hand chased with florals and the lid bears an family crest of a horse’s head.
The box bears the early mark of T&J Creswick of Sheffield (crossed arrows mark in triangle), but also “Made in England” putting it just around the 1910 -1915 mark before the company was bought out by William Hutton & Sons. Although there is the possibility that the box is much earlier into the 19th century as the “Made in England” may have be placed later as it crosses over the “crossed arrows” mark.
Box measures: 11 inches long on each of the 3 sides x 6 inches high.
