Birks Sterling Silver 3 Piece Carving Set with Pistol Grip Handles – “George II Plain” Pattern dated 1943

Here is a lovely 3 piece Birks Sterling silver carving set, consisting of the knife, fork and sharpener. The pattern is George II Plain and each piece has a pistol grip handle. There is an engraved  crest of a Griffin on the handle of each piece.

The carving knife measures 14 1/2 inches long and is 1 1/4 inches wide across the blade. It is stamped “Stainless” on the back of the blade.  The fork is 11 1/4 inches long and is stamped “Stainless Sheffield England” across the back.

The sharpening stone is 13 1/4 inches long and is stamped “Forged Steel Sheffield England” on the stone.

All 3 pieces are stamped “Birks Sterling” with hallmarks on the handles dating the set for 1943.

The set is very good condition.
