Blue Enamel and Ormolu Oval Dresser Box with Hinged Lid, Painted Portrait of a Woman, signed “Pauling”

A beautiful oval dresser box with blue enamel and decorative ormolu. In the centre of the hinged lid is a painted portrait of a woman. The portrait is signed “Pauling” on the lower right side.

The interior of the box is lined with beige velvet.

The box measures 3 1/2 inches wide and is 1 inch deep.

There is some slight discolouration on one section of the ormolu near the top rim and the underside of the base shows some usage wear. There is also a rough spot on the blue enamel near the upper left section of the box.
