This is a romantic bronze figure depicting Cupid, the ancient Roman God of Love, holding a bow from which an arrow has just been let fly. It is signed by the Polish artist Paul. L. Kowalczewski and is mounted on a green marble plinth. This Cupid has a lovely face, flowing hair and is scantily clad in a loin cloth with one out stretched hand that holds a bow.
Bronze Measures: 7 inches high and with the marble the total height is 11 inches.
Condition: Lovely patination. His right arm has a fine hairline crack that is visible but the arm remains firmly attached, the marble has a few blemishes but nothing too glaring that it takes away from this beautiful antique art piece.
