Chinese “Famille Rose” Large Square Porcelain Bowl with Rose Wood Stand Circa 1900

Famille Rose  (French for “pink family” ) is a type of Chinese porcelain introduced in the 18th century that features fabulous delicate pinks, rusts, greens and blues. This large, square bowl has unusual scalloped edges on all four sides with hand painted scenes illustrating figures in interiors and beautiful landscapes with birds, butterflies, fruit, and floral images. The “story” continues in lovely detail with the interior surface of the bowl. The rose wood stand is solid and heavy adding to the overall display of this stamped Qing Dynasty piece.
