Early 19th Century English Porcelain Tray Imari Pattern – Possibly Davenport
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vEarly 19th Century English Porcelain Tray – Imari Pattern – Possibly Davenport
This is a beautiful porcelain tray, possibly Davenport, that is expertly hand painted with an Imari pattern using traditional orange, green and cobalt blue colours over a white background. It features blossoming flowers, interesting stems and smooth leaves with a lot of gold work. I like the rectangular shape, the curved corners and the upturned sides that almost make it a shallow bowl.
Dates: Early 19th century.
Mark: Hand scribed number 257. Unmarked. Possibly Davenport or early Spode.
Measures: 9 3/4 inches long x 7 5/8 inches wide.
Excellent condition: No chips, cracks or repairs. Partial gold wear on rim and on centre leaves.
