Early Spode Stone China Chinoiserie Platter – Exotic Birds/Peonies, Circa 1820–1830
China Patterns, PorcelainsA fine early Spode Stone China serving platter decorated in the colourful chinoiserie Birds sitting on a Rock. The central scene shows two exotic birds perched among flowering peonies and rockwork, framed by a gilt star border and richly enamelled floral sprays around the rim. Transfer-printed outline with hand-painted overglaze enamels—typical of Spode’s early Stone China production of the 1820s.
Marked “Spode Stone China” with pseudo-Chinese seal to the underside, used between 1813 and 1833.
A beautifully preserved example with strong colours and classic Regency period decoration.
Circa: 1820–1830
Condition: Excellent antique condition; no chips or cracks.
