Edwardian Mahogany Shadowbox Showcase Table with Hinged, Bevelled Glass Top – dated 1902

An Edwardian period mahogany showcase table with a hinged shadowbox lid and a bevelled glass top. The interior of the showcase has a flat black velvet tray with two knobs which is removable and reveals a deep storage which is lined with a ribbed yellow velvet yellow and fabric.

There is a key and lock on the front of the piece and a “faux” drawer with a metal handle on each side of the table.  The table has 4 tapered straight legs.

On the front of the table is a metal shield with an inscription which reads

The hinged showcase measures 22 inches long x 15 inches wide.
The table portion is slightly larger and measures 24 inches wide. The showcase with table is 28 inches tall.

The piece is in very excellent condition.
