English Hallmarked Sterling Silver Flask, London – dated 1905.v** SOLD ARCHIVES **v
Here is a handsome London England hallmarked sterling silver flask, dated 1905, and showing the maker’s mark “G & L Col Ltd” (for Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company) plus the English hallmarks on the side of the flask.
The top twists and locks on a hinged lid with interior cork to prevent leakage.
The flask is inscribed ” To F. Mundy, Esq. from his highness The Sultan of Perak, CCMC, Coronation 1911″.
Perak is a region in northwestern Malaysia, bordering Thailand to the north and fronting the Strait of Malacca to the west. The name Perak means “tin”.
The flask weighs 164 grams and measures 5 3/4 inches tall (with the lid) X 3 1/2 inches wide.
There are some age wear related surface scratches and a small dent on one edge but, overall, the flask is in good condition.
