Exquisite & Tall Pair of 19th Century Sevres Style Porcelain & Gilded Bronze Lidded Vases

Exquisite pair of Sevres style porcelain lidded vases with gilded neoclassical bronze adornments.  The dark blue background of each porcelain vase is supported by a gilded bronze  square pedestal base with inset corners and carved details.  The front center of the “cone shaped” vase has hand painted scenes on both sides. Each vignette is a hand painted  scene depicting “courting couples with birds and flutes ” and on the reverse “floral bouquets”, all slightly unique and framed by gold brushstroke borders. The top of the vase is decorated with a pierce bronze edge of circular motifs. The vase is affixed on each side with gilt bronze “neoclassical faces” and acanthus leaves details that extend vertically from below the “bust” and around the handles. The dome shaped lids have hand painted “ovals of flowers” each ending with a finial of guilt bronze cast “acanthus seed pod”.

Due to restoration work on one of the lids, the blue background has a slightly matt finish.
