French Empire Period Mahogany Secretaire a Abattant with Bronze Fittings & Marble Top – circa 1820
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA very nice quality French Empire secretaire a abattant with drop down door with leather top surface and interior small drawers (& 2 secret drawers). The interior drawers are in rosewood with satinwood inlay. The lower doors open to reveal 3 sliding shelves and a disguised like trim drawer at the very bottom just over the bronze lion paw feet, and is topped off with a mottled grey marble top.
Hardware is gilt bronze of a Napoleon wreath on the front door with an eagle coat of arms in the centre. The handles for the upper drawer are lion face masks and the feet of the piece are bronze lion paw feet.
Measures: 37 1/2 inches wide (at top marble) x 17 inches deep (top marble) x 59 inches high.
