French ‘Japy Freres’ Gilt Bronze & Porcelain Clock, circa 1850.
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA fine gilt bronze clock with white porcelain face and 12-hour roman numeral clock, with three hand-painted porcelain plaques inset into the body. The clock is a nice smaller size that is rather unique and well-balanced. Clock is in fine working order, and the chime strikes on the hour and the half hour. Pendulum and key included. The maker is Japy Freres, a well known French clock maker in Paris.
Marked: Japy Freres with Medaille d’Argent circle mark 1844-1849.
Measures: 12 inches tall x 11 inches wide.
Excellent condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. (All components in working condition.)
