French Longwy Enamelled Pottery Chamberstick / Candle Holder with Lithophane

This French candle holder originates from Longwy, France. It has an enamelled pottery dish with a red, white and green floral pattern, and a blue background. This candle holder (chamber stick) features a porcelain lithophane that depicts a couple standing under a tree.

Lithophanes are semi-transparent barriers that, when backlit, enhance the art that’s on the front to create a stunning display.  The lithopone also acts as a barrier for the candle against being blown out when walking around.
