Impressively Large & Colourful French Limoges Porcelain Egg Shaped Perfume Box for Caron Paris

Made in Limoges, France the box originally held a larger perfume bottle by Perfume maker, Caron. The box opens and is held open by an attached bronze stick. Hand painted intense violet and cadmium yellows with flowers and “ladybugs”, marked Limoges, France on the bottom and Caron, Paris on the interior.
Caron is one of the oldest French perfume houses still exclusively dedicated to perfume. Caron was founded in 1904 by Ernest Daltroff (1867-1941) who chose a short name, easy to remember in several languages while still being associated with France. The house was first located at 10 rue de la Paix in Paris.
Grand enough to repurpose for display, jewelry or toiletries.
