Langley Ware English Leadless Glazed Pottery and Enamelled Jardiniere
Gift Ideas, PotteryHere is a lovely leadless glazed and enamelled jardiniere made by Langley Ware, England. The exterior of the jardiniere is cobalt blue on the top and bottom thirds and there is a central section that is pale green / grey in colour and has enamelled white, green and orange designs around the body of the piece. The inside of the jardiniere is a yellowish brown colour. The jardiniere has a scalloped top rim.
On the underside is written in script “Langley Ware” and it is impressed “Leadless Glaze” and “Lovatt Langley Mill, England”. In addition, in blue, is stamped “Patent No. 8087”.
The jardiniere is 9 1/2 inches wide at the top and stands 8 inches tall.
There is some usage wear and what appears to be a slight hairline on the exterior (that doesn’t go through to the inside) near the bottom of the central panel as though it has been dinged. However, overall, the piece is in good condition and holds water with no problems.
