Large 27 inch French Gilt Bronze Figural Grouping – Clock with the God Pan, Satyr & Woman. Silk Suspension Movement – circa 1840

A large 28 inch gilt bronze figural clock that features 3 figures – The mythological figure of the God Pan centred between a Satyr (half man/ half beast) on the left and a woman figure on the right.

They surround the clock face which is supported over a Rococo base that has a central ewer with overflowing wine grapes and grape leaves that flow down with fruit and split to the left and right near the bottom.  A dead animal also hangs just below the ewer.  The face has enamelled Roman Numeral numbers.  The movement has a chime that strikes on the hour and the half hour and the pendulum is held by a silk suspension.  The movement is marked initials CM.

Measures:  27 inches high x 23 inches wide x 8 1/2 inches deep.

The clock is not in working order at the moment.
