Large American Nakara Dresser Box, C.F Monroe Co. circa 1890

This large round American opalware glass Nakara jewelry box is by the C.F. Monroe company out of Meridian, Connecticut. It is hand painted with two delightful cherubs in the clouds surrounded by flowers touched with a blush of pink and highlighted with raised white enamel dots over an olive green background.  This jewel box features the original beige fabric lining and hinged ormolu mounts.

Marked: Nakara, C.F.M. Co. on bottom – for C. F Monroe, the founder and maker of Nakara from Meridian, Connecticut, USA.

Measures:  8 inches in Diameter x 3 3/4 inches high.

Excellent Condition:  Liner is exceptional, hinge works well and there is no chips or cracks.
