This intriguing portrait of a young gypsy woman is hand painted on an oval porcelain plaque circa 1880. Impressively the frame surround is Italian Florentine high relief carved gold guilt wood, adding an unbelievable three dimensional aspect. The young beautiful gypsy woman rests her chin and neck on her hand. She is shown wearing a red head scarf and a gold necklace and earrings and is looking wistfully into the distance. Both the plaque and frame are in excellent condition. KPM marks on the reverse and artist signature on the front mid right .
