A spectacular vintage Italian Murano glass floor lamp dating to the latter half of the 20th century. The sculptural lamp features a tall column formed from a series of ribbed pink blown-glass spheres, rising from a matching circular copper base.

The upper section is dramatically arranged with more than 100 individually hand-blown glass rods, worked in graduated tones of clear, pale blue, yellow-green and pink. The rods rise and cascade in varying lengths to create the appearance of an illuminated fountain or spray of water, with curved pink glass elements falling gracefully around the perimeter.

When lit, the central light source illuminates the textured glass rods from within, producing a striking shimmering effect and emphasizing the subtle variations in colour throughout the glass.

An exceptional statement piece combining Italian Mid-Century design with the exuberant decorative quality associated with Murano glass lighting of the 1970s and 1980s.
