The table is constructed in richly figured mahogany and features an elegant serpentine top edged with contrasting crossbanding and fine line inlay. The shaped frieze is designed with three inlaid drawer-form panels, the central panel opening as a functional drawer while the two flanking panels are decorative faux drawers, maintaining the symmetry and refined proportions of the façade.
The drawer and faux fronts are outlined with delicate geometric stringing and fitted with decorative brass ring handles. The table is raised on four slender square tapering legs, each embellished with line inlay and terminating in small spade feet.
The combination of the serpentine form, restrained neoclassical decoration, tapered legs, fine stringing and mahogany construction is characteristic of sophisticated English furniture produced during the late George III period, with strong Hepplewhite influence.
