London England 1893 Hallmarked Silver Oval Box with Carved Mother of Pearl Portrait Cameo Hinged Lid, maker: C. Joshua Vander

A lovely English hallmarked silver oval box with a mother of pearl carved portrait cameo on the hinged lid. The box is stamped on the underside with the maker’s initials and the English hallmarks. The maker is Cornelius Joshua Vander and the hallmarks are for London 1893.  The box opens to a pretty large open space nice for holding pills or small jewelry.

The box measures 3 1/2 inches long and stands 1 1/4 inches tall.

It is in very nice condition.
