Lovely Quality Mother of Pearl & Sterling Banded Fruit Set for 12 – 24 pieces – dated 1899

A lovely quality mother or pearl handled dessert / fruit set – having 12 knives & 12 forks in a custom fitted mahogany box.  Each piece has a sterling silver band between the handle and the blade.  The silver plated blades are beautifully hand chased.

The sterling silver bands – date for Sheffield, 1899.  with maker’s mark  A&D

Box marked:  Brook & Son – Goldsmiths to HM the Queen, 87 George Street Edinburgh  – this would be the retailer.

Box measures:  12 inches x 9.5 inches
Fork measures: 6 inches long
Knife measures: 7.25 inches long
