Luxurious & Intricate Austrian Moser Style Cranberry Art Glass Enamelled Jewelry Casket Box, Circa 1870
Art Glass / Crystal, Gift IdeasLuxurious Moser “style” high quality crystal cranberry glass jewelry “casket shape” box with hand-painted enamel decorations of intricate gilding that is slightly raised from the cranberry red glass surface. Hand painted gold gilt enamel patterns of leaves and flowers seem to grow on vines along the surface. Symmetrical larger gilt ground shapes with hand painted enamel curvilinear organic forms are highlighted by borders of tiny white enamelled dots. The lid complete with gold metal trim includes a full width gold metal hinge and front clasp. The whole effect is stunning when the box lid is open, the cranberry glass seems to glow with the gold enamelling decoration. In excellent condition, circa 1870.
