Miniature Russian Icon – Pre-Revolution – 84 Silver “Riza Oklad” – Circa 1900.

A miniature Russian Silver Icon – marked 84 (.875 silver content) hand painted saint over wood covered in decorative repoussé silver (Riza Oklad – meaning robe covered over the icon in decorative metal/silver/gold).  The icon is miniature – measuring just 2 inches high x 1 1/2 inches wide placed over a velvet lined and oval wood frame.  The icon is pre Russian revolution dating sometime between 1895-1917.

Marked: :  .84 silver mark & makers mark  CKE (cyrillic)

Measures:  5 1/8 inches long x 4 1/8 inches wide (frame).

Excellent condition. No chips, cracks or repairs.
