Minton Turquoise & Enamelled Cup & Saucer – Attributed to Christopher Dresser – Dated 1869.
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA beautifully coloured and enamelled cup & saucer by Minton and most likely by Christopher Dresser as it is typical of his colouring and enamelling while he worked for Mintons in the late 19th century.
The cup is decorated with a vivid turquoise background with hand painted enamel flowers in a rust red, green enamel leaves and raised dotted gold “jewels” as well as flat blue dots. The decoration is finished with gold trims and highlights throughout. The cup sits on 3 small feet, raised up from the saucer.
Impressed Minton mark in the saucer along with an English Registration impressed mark dating the cup for 1869.
Excellent condition.
Cup measures: 4 1/2 inches long (including handle) x 2 1/8 inches high.
Saucer measures: 5 3/4 inches diameter.
