v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vThis is an impressive Moorcroft pottery jardiniere from England with two handles and 4 flat semicircular nubs jutting out from its sides. It is Florian Ware in beautiful blues and greens in what I believe is a tulip pattern. Signed by William Moorcroft. Dates circa 1916.
The design of this jardiniere was adapted from a classical pottery jardiniere that was excavated at Pompeii.
Impressed marks: Moorcroft, Burslem, England. (the England under Burslem dates circa 1916+) from the Cobridge factory.
Full signature in Green (William Moorcroft) on bottom.
Measures: 8 1/2 inches x 12 inches wide (handle to handle).
Excellent Condition: No cracks, typical crazing and an small professional repair to the foot of the piece that is expertly colour matched.
