Outstanding & Generous English Georgian Era Mahogany with Satinwood Inlay Bureau/Secretary Desk, Circa 1800

Outstanding Georgian era mahogany secretary desk/bureau bookcase with magnificent satinwood inlay . There is a handsome carved cornice above a pair of mahogany inlaid satinwood astral glazed doors.  The bookcase, having two shelves with height, is supported by  a fantastic bureau with a mahogany fall and inlaid satinwood trim.  The fall opens to reveal a generous fitted interior consisting of  8 drawers, 10 pigeon holes and a miniature cabinet & door to the centre opening. There is a green leather writing surface with gorgeous tooled & applied gold/gilt. The base is an arrangement of 2 over 3 drawers, all trimmed in satinwood and having the original brass swan neck handles, standing on bracket feet.

A superior example of Georgian craftmanship in very good original condition.
