Pair of 23 Inch High French Bronze & Gilt 5-Branch Candelabra – Griffin & Turtle Decorations – Tri-foot Base.
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA fantastic pair of French bronze and gilt bronze 5-branch candelabra. Each has Griffin figures around the tri-footed bases with turtle finials at the top. The holders themselves are intricately embossed with leaves and vines. The bronze is patina’d in a dark brown with gilt highlights. The bodies are reeded and have small protruding holders – probably for a hanging snuffer.
Exceptional quality. Dates early 19th century.
The pair stands 23 3/4 inches tall and are in excellent condition.
